Job Requirements
- Cooking experience required
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with availability every other weekend
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- Must be able to perform physical tasks related to kitchen duties
- Willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production schedules
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic record keeping and organizational abilities
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Store or discard excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and ensure food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Report maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents immediately to supervisor
- Attend in-service and safety meetings
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Demonstrate personal commitment to your own safety and that of others
- Abide by all company policies and safety procedures including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
