Job Requirements

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation
  • minimum of two years experience in healthcare food services
  • ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • leadership skills
  • ability to make independent decisions
  • tactfulness in dealing with various individuals
  • physical ability to perform duties including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and fine motor skills for computer work
  • willingness to work beyond normal hours when necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepare and distribute all food production in the dietary department
  • supervise all dietary department personnel in the absence of the Food Service Director
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • make independent decisions when necessary
  • communicate effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies
  • lead and work harmoniously with professional and nonprofessional staff
  • seek out and incorporate new methods and principles into dietary practices
