Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • previous kitchen line experience preferred
  • food handlers card required
  • compliance with local and state health and safety regulations
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • adherence to brand standards and company policies
  • willingness to attend required training sessions and meetings

Job Qualifications

  • previous kitchen line experience preferred
  • possess knowledge of food and beverage in restaurant or hotel operations
  • skillfully use hand tools or machines needed for the position
  • read recipes accurately
  • measure and work on materials or objects with precision
  • use arithmetic or shop geometry for material calculation and cost

Job Duties

  • Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food from supplier or procures it from storage
  • adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, and grinders
  • sets up and stocks stations with all necessary supplies
  • cooks menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff
  • cleans up station and takes care of waste
  • stocks inventory appropriately
  • ensures all food items are properly dated and stored
  • maintains inventory and temperature logs
  • ensures food quality and timely delivery
  • complies with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards
  • maintains positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • adheres to all safety and brand standards
  • responds to guest requests and complaints timely and professionally
  • maintains professional image at all times
  • follows company policies and procedures
  • operates kitchen in accordance with federal, state, and local laws including OSHA and health codes
  • performs other duties as assigned by management
