Job Requirements
- Two years of related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- servsafe Food Handler certification required
- willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Manager certification, paid for by NatureBridge
- employment eligibility contingent on successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting
- weekend availability
- ability to work on site in Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Sausalito, CA
- ability to follow verbal and written directions
- ability to work independently
- ability to work efficiently under pressure and time limits
Job Qualifications
- Two years of related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- degree in culinary arts preferred
- strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- skills in all aspects of food preparation for large groups
- ability to work efficiently under pressure and time limits
- ability to follow verbal and written directions as well as work independently
- servsafe Food Handler certification required
- willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Manager certification, paid for by NatureBridge
- employment eligibility contingent on successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook buffet-style meals for up to 240 people
- direct kitchen assistants and other support staff during their shift
- maintain a safe and clean work environment
- receive and stock deliveries of food and supplies
- label and store foods in a manner that meets NPS public health standards
- establish and maintain respectful, supportive and compassionate relationships with staff, volunteers and participants
- collaborate with Evening Cook on areas of need for upcoming meals
- perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
