Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree or relevant culinary training preferred
  • Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or senior care setting
  • Ability to work full-time including weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards
  • Ability to follow established recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or training or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures
  • Previous experience with special diets and long-term care preferred
  • Previous experience with large batch cooking for 100 people or more

Job Duties

  • Create food service by preparing great meals using established recipes, diet modifications, and menu cycles
  • Assist with food stock deliveries, rotation of products, and regulatory log requirements
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained by following established cleaning schedules and protocols
  • Communicate with the Dining Director on preparation, production, and flow of service
