Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience as a cook or in a related role required
- knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
- ability to work standing for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- willingness to follow uniform and personal protective equipment (ppe) guidelines
Job Qualifications
- experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
