Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking experience, preferably in assisted living or healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and recipes
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules without late nights
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role, ideally in a healthcare or senior living setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to follow recipes, adjust portion sizes, and prepare meals for large groups

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, organized environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
  • Prepare special meals for residents with specific dietary needs such as low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, or gluten-free options
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth meal preparation and service
  • Support a positive and respectful work environment
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and supplies
  • Assist with inventory and ordering of food supplies
