Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
- knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling
- ability to safely use kitchen utensils and operate cooking equipment
- physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
- commitment to maintaining a positive and customer-focused attitude
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation and various cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
- bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
- adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensure security of company assets
