Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least two years of institutional cooking experience
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate required
  • ability to work weekends and on-call shifts
  • adherence to safety and sanitation procedures
  • ability to lift and carry food trays and equipment
  • strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Practice Serve Safe sanitation at all times
  • prepare catering functions and maintain consistent food quality
  • prepare patient meals according to specific diets and have meals ready at mealtime
  • ensure proper temperature of all food served according to state and federal guidelines
  • maintain acceptable food temperature as per policy and procedure manual
  • prepare cafeteria meals according to specific menu
  • ensure cafeteria meals are done on time and have sufficient backup to avoid running out of food
