Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years quantity cooking experience preferred
  • ability to obtain ServSafe certification and complete New Manager Training within six months to one year
  • ability to perform basic clerical and mathematical skills
  • ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work
  • ability to provide work direction and respond courteously to requests
  • ability to work independently or lead a group
  • ability to work harmoniously with staff, students, and public

  • experience supervising school food service operations is desired

Job Duties

  • Prepare food per written menu or standardized recipes using food preparation principles
  • calculate food and supplies needed and communicate orders to the Head Cook
  • serve food following portion control instructions and standardized recipes
  • perform cleaning assignments following HACCP SOPs
  • operate and clean kitchen equipment as instructed
  • follow federal and state guidelines for serving reimbursable meals
  • maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • perform all other duties as assigned
