Job Requirements

  • Completion of food preparation and sanitation training or certification is required

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals in accordance with physician-directed dietary plans, including specialized diets for patients with food allergies and eating disorders
  • Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and allergy-prevention protocols to ensure patient safety
  • Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to accommodate individual dietary needs and restrictions
  • Accurately label and handle ingredients to prevent cross-contamination, especially for allergen-sensitive meals
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food prep area in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor portion sizes and food presentation to support therapeutic meal plans and promote a healthy eating environment
  • Participate in ongoing training related to food allergies, disordered eating, and behavioral health nutrition
  • Document food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and meal service records in accordance with hospital standards
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding patient needs, menu changes, and safety concerns
