Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years professional cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods, kitchen and dining sanitation, and use of kitchen equipment
  • Basic math skills to understand recipes and meal tickets
  • Ability to work unsupervised and perform all kitchen functions
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Effective time management and good judgment under stress
  • Flexibility in performing various kitchen roles
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
  • Physical ability to stand constantly, use hands, arms, legs, grasp and reach at waist level, bend neck
  • Frequent walking, twisting neck, operating tools, exposure to heat
  • Occasional twisting waist, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, exposure to temperature extremes, humidity, wetness, walking stairs carrying up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare proper plate and platter presentation according to the department standards
  • Assist chefs as needed
  • Have full knowledge of menus and recipes
  • Follow all recipe specifications and presentation guidelines accurately
  • Uphold quality standards, portion control, production levels, and food presentation according to company standards
  • Ensure proper rotation, labeling, and dating of all products in storage to control waste and prevent loss
  • Maintain daily product freshness on assigned stations
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area including reach-ins, walk-ins, and counters
  • Maintain a sanitary workstation
  • Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures
  • Follow all work safety practices including knife handling, meat cutters, lifting, oven, and stove top safety
