Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • three years experience as cook in a restaurant or dining room setting
  • knowledge of food preparation practices and sanitation procedures
  • knowledge of kitchen procedures and safety regulations
  • ability to prepare meals by following established menus
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to follow instructions and meet physical demands
  • ability to handle kitchen equipment and utensils

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assists in the preparation of food according to daily menu and grill requests
  • assures compliance with sanitation and safety laws and procedures
  • preps food for catering and next day menu items
  • properly dates and stores food containers
  • maintains safe food practices and discards outdated items
  • performs cleaning tasks and tends dishwashing machine
  • maintains proper temperature of cold and hot food items
  • follows standardized recipes
  • attends staff meetings and training sessions
  • performs other tasks as assigned
