Job Requirements

  • Must complete background investigation with favorable results
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for extended periods
  • Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment physical
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national who has resided in U.S. territory for three or more consecutive years
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service
  • Direct deposit required
  • Must satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify)
  • May require probationary period
  • Pre-employment requirements must be met before entrance on duty

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation and presentation methods gained in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment preferred
  • Ability to season food and determine doneness
  • Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate
  • Successful completion of background investigation

Job Duties

  • Performs simple cooking tasks such as preparing pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables
  • Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats, soups, sauces, gravies, and cold sandwich fillings
  • Cooks convenience foods including frozen hash browns, fish fillets, chicken nuggets, and bakes pizza
  • Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading
  • Measures and assembles ingredients for menu items
  • Sets up and replenishes salad bar
  • Portions food for meal service and stores leftovers according to procedures
  • Cleans kitchen equipment and maintains sanitation
  • Mixes ingredients according to written recipes to ensure quality and minimize waste
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
