Job Requirements

Must complete background investigation with favorable results
Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for extended periods
Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment physical
Must be a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national who has resided in U.S. territory for three or more consecutive years
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service
Direct deposit required
Must satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify)
May require probationary period
Pre-employment requirements must be met before entrance on duty
Payment of PCS costs not authorized
Must meet all qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
This is a Non-appropriated Fund position supporting Air Force and Space Force MWR activities

Job Qualifications

Experience in food preparation and presentation methods gained in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity preferred
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment preferred
Ability to season food and determine doneness
Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate
Successful completion of background investigation

Job Duties

Performs simple cooking tasks such as preparing pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables
Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats, soups, sauces, gravies, and cold sandwich fillings
Cooks convenience foods including frozen hash browns, fish fillets, chicken nuggets, and bakes pizza
Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading
Measures and assembles ingredients for menu items
Sets up and replenishes salad bar
Portions food for meal service and stores leftovers according to procedures
Cleans kitchen equipment and maintains sanitation
Mixes ingredients according to written recipes to ensure quality and minimize waste
Performs other related duties as assigned
