Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking experience in a large or high-volume kitchen
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to perform various cooking techniques
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Availability to work flexible shifts as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in cooking and food preparation in a large kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards including DHEC regulations
  • Ability to perform basic cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, braising, and baking
  • Experience in high volume food service environments such as hospitals, nursing care facilities, or schools preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and solution-oriented approach

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to established standards under the direction of the Executive Chef
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in kitchen operations
  • Follow DHEC kitchen regulations rigorously
  • Execute basic cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, braising, and baking
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen workflow
  • Support food service in multiple dining venues across the campus
  • Contribute positively to the community culture and resident satisfaction
