Job Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read and write
- One year of satisfactory, full-time paid employment in institutional cooking
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work varied shifts
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and write
- One year of satisfactory, full-time paid employment in institutional cooking
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Current Food Handler's Card from Tulsa City/County Health Department
Job Duties
- Review shelter census and estimate and prepare quantities of food as needed
- Refer to menu and instructions and select meats, fish, fowl and vegetables from storage
- Baste, sear, batter, cut, portion and season according to recipes, menu instructions, or personal judgment
- Cook meat and vegetables using ovens, griddles, and other utensils
- Apportion and serve food from steam table
- Clean and wash work areas and equipment using proper cleaning agents and equipment
- Follow kitchen cleaning schedule and maintain a clean kitchen
