Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience cooking for large groups, preferably pediatric populations
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to learn and comply with paid training programs
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience cooking for 150 children plus
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling practices
  • Ability to write and prepare menus
  • Strong organizational and cleaning skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and inventory
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Passion for working in a preschool environment

Job Duties

  • Preparing fresh fruit, vegetables, and other products
  • Serving breakfast, cooking and serving lunch for all classrooms
  • Serving a morning and afternoon snack
  • Writing and preparing monthly lunch and snack menus
  • Cleaning and washing prep table, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning and organizing the prep fridge and pantry
  • Rinsing kitchen equipment and cutting boards
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen and pantry
  • Budgeting, managing, and ordering inventory
  • Assisting in other areas as needed assigned by management
  • Having fun in a preschool environment
