Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred
- ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef's knives
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to follow both oral and written instructions
- ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- manual dexterity and good visual and auditory skills
- willingness to work variable shifts
- adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines
- food handler certification a plus

- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely
- good communication skills
- ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- strong team player with positive attitude
- basic math skills for measuring and portion control
- food handler certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipment
- monitor freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality, rotating stock, and following labeling and dating procedures
- cook and prepare foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using methods such as tasting, smelling or food thermometers
- prepare stations as directed according to company guidelines
- bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods
- season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes with guidance from supervisor
- wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
- carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service
- bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries as needed
- wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils or other cooking equipment as required
- compile and maintain records of food usage
- assist with inventory management
- follow food specification amounts provided by supervisor and assist in forecasting preparation needs
- prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
- assist culinary staff at various stations as directed
- communicate with supervisor regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
- adhere to and promote company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity
- provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
- perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
