Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- minimum of two years food production experience
- safe Food Handler Certification obtained within six months of employment
- strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- effective communication abilities in verbal, listening, and written forms
- manual dexterity sufficient for kitchen utensil use and cleaning duties
- ability to understand recipes and food labels
- proficient in team building and time management
- knowledge of computer office software
- proficient in English reading, writing, and comprehension
- must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- able to walk, climb stairs or ladders, and stand for extended periods
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Responsible for the preparation of nutritious and appealing children's meals following approved menus and regulatory requirements
- reviewing orders at delivery and providing signed invoices for payments
- contacting caterers and vendors as needed
- examining food items for freshness, temperature, and quality, refusing items not meeting guidelines
- monitoring food consistency, taste, appearance, and temperature
- forecasting food production to meet required portions and minimize waste
- controlling portion sizes served to classrooms and managing food distribution according to schedule
- documenting daily meals served and temperature logs
- completing and submitting monthly inventory reports by the 10th
- supervising and assisting with kitchen cleanup
- attending conferences, trainings, and staff meetings
- maintaining compliance with kitchen service area standards
- adhering to personnel policies and demonstrating professional conduct
- showing cultural sensitivity and respect
- providing orientation to new employees
- maintaining required certifications and skill updates
- complying with all applicable laws and regulations
- performing other duties as assigned
- possibly serving as interim department leader when needed
