Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or cooking
- Ability to work flexible shift schedules
- Capacity to adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- No required licensures or certifications
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant cooking experience
- Ability to follow standardized recipes accurately
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with supervisors and chefs
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Capability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
- Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
- Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food will be ready at specified times
- Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
- Adhere to all applicable guidelines regarding the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area
- Use critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action when necessary
