Job Requirements

  • one year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or complex healthcare facility
  • ability to prepare and coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery
  • knowledge of food and food products
  • ability to perform food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing
  • ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation at all times
  • knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • must possess superb customer service skills
  • must be able to work various hours and locations
  • must be able to bend, squat, stand, and walk for long periods
  • employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications

  • one year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or complex healthcare facility
  • demonstrated knowledge of food and food products
  • ability to prepare and coordinate food orders for timely and efficient delivery
  • skill in quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill and/or catering
  • ability to perform food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing
  • knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • must have superb customer service skills
  • food handler's card/certification preferred
  • ability to efficiently scratch cook with meats, fish, vegetables, soups and sauces preferred
  • experience in all stations with proficient knife skills and ability to work in a team preferred

Job Duties

  • perform a variety of duties related to hot and cold production and service to customers according to established procedures and quality standards
  • prepare menu items in advance of serving and to order for cafeteria, tray-line and special functions following standardized recipes
  • prepare food items to highest standards with respect to appearance, taste, temperature, and portion control
  • perform meat fabrication, fish cutting, sauce making
  • maintain clean and sanitary work station area including tables, grills, broilers, fryers, ovens and refrigeration equipment
  • follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
  • close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklist
  • assist others in closing kitchen
  • attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute with suggestions for improvement
  • perform other related duties as assigned
