As one of the leading health systems in the region, YNHHS aims to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves by fostering a culture that supports both its patients and employees alike. The organization encourages every team member to share in its vision, uphold its mission, and embody these values daily in all professional endeavors. This collective commitment helps ensure that each interaction is purposeful and contributes positively toward patient experience and overall health outcomes.

This position is vital within the broader operational framework of YNHHS, particularly supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of patients, staff, and visitors. The role primarily involves preparing food according to predetermined cycle and daily menus, assisting in serving meals, and maintaining the cleanliness of the food preparation and serving areas. Working under standardized recipes and food safety guidelines, the professional in this position must demonstrate proficiency in cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming a variety of foods including meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, and soups. Additionally, this role includes tasks such as slicing and portioning food items for service, monitoring food temperatures, and maintaining accurate logs to comply with health and safety regulations.

The role supports the serving line by assisting in daily operations and ensuring that all substitution duties are carried out accurately and thoroughly. The position requires a team-oriented individual who can effectively communicate and collaborate with fellow staff members to maintain a smooth, efficient, and hygienic food service environment. In addition, this opportunity offers employment under a collective bargaining agreement, with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $28.50 per hour, reflecting experience and skill levels. This compensation aligns with the organization's commitment to recognizing the value of its employees through fair and equitable pay.

The work environment demands physical stamina and the ability to meet specific health and safety requirements, including the capability to stand for extended periods and safely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate will possess not only technical food preparation skills but also the interpersonal skills necessary to engage effectively with the team and adhere strictly to all organizational safety and hygiene standards.

As part of YNHHS, employees enjoy contributing to a prestigious healthcare organization that values diversity, inclusion, and career growth within a supportive and collaborative work culture. Staff members are empowered to develop their careers while making a tangible difference in the health and lives of the population served by the institution. This role offers the chance to be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality food services that enhance patient satisfaction and support therapeutic dietary needs.

Joining YNHHS means becoming part of a health system striving for excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. This food preparation and service role is essential to sustaining the infrastructure that supports patient recovery and staff wellness every day, making it a position of both responsibility and pride within the organization.
