Job Description

Trilogy at The Vineyards is a premier residential and recreational community located in the East Bay area of Brentwood, California. It offers an unparalleled lifestyle experience by combining spectacular architecture, stunning mountain views, and a vibrant social atmosphere. The centerpiece of this community is Club Los Meganos, which serves as a hub for its residents and visitors, providing a wide array of world-class amenities. These include a full-service Sawa Spa for relaxation and rejuvenation, Abby's Gourmet Studio offering exquisite dining experiences, well-maintained fitness and sports courts for an active lifestyle, and beautiful vineyard surroundings ideal for hosting weddings and social events. Trilogy at The Vineyards takes pride in its commitment to offering a balanced blend of luxury, comfort, and community engagement. The establishment fosters an environment where both employees and guests experience exceptional service, upholding high industry standards and embracing core values such as honesty, integrity, respect, teamwork, and a competitive spirit.

The role available is that of Cook 1, a key position within the Food & Beverage team at Club Los Meganos. This is a part-time position offering competitive pay between $19 and $20 per hour. The Cook 1 is primarily responsible for food preparation, cooking, and serving, contributing to the high-quality dining experiences expected by guests. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef, this position entails mastering one kitchen station, taking full responsibility for personal decisions and actions related to food preparation and safety. The cook will engage in diverse culinary activities such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits; measuring and mixing ingredients for various recipes; baking, roasting, broiling, steaming meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; and ensuring food is cooked to perfection by using sensory evaluations like tasting and smelling. The role also involves carving meats, portioning food, adding gravies and sauces, garnishing, and fulfilling orders efficiently.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are highly customer-oriented, proactive, and able to work well under pressure while managing multiple priorities. Candidates should be team players with strong leadership and cooperative skills, embodying the BlueStar core values of honesty, respect, teamwork, and competitive spirit. The work environment is primarily an indoor kitchen setting, but at times may extend to outdoor event setups, requiring adaptability to varying weather conditions and physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and frequent hand washing. Benefits for part-time workers include eligibility for paid sick leave according to state guidelines and participation in a 401(k) plan after 30 days of service. Full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week gain access to additional benefits such as medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays. This role demands flexibility in scheduling, including availability during evenings and weekends, and offers an enriching work experience in a high-end community-focused setting dedicated to culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
