The Cook 1 position at Invited serves as an essential entry-level role within this vibrant organization. This position involves the set-up, preparation, and organization of the cook's workstation, focusing on fundamental food preparation under the supervision of more experienced kitchen staff such as Cook 2 and Cook 3. The Cook 1 assists with producing food and beverage items while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards at the work area. This role requires the individual to prepare and store food items following the company’s quality standards, support daily kitchen operations, and maintain proper food storage and handling techniques. Working cohesively with the culinary team, the Cook 1 plays a key part in ensuring that every dish meets the high standards expected in Invited's premier club environments.
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef, the Cook 1 is responsible for daily prep tasks, cooking techniques, and supporting kitchen cleanliness and organization. This role demands adaptability and a willingness to learn, with responsibilities extending to managing items like condiments and soups, communicating product needs, accommodating last-minute member or guest requests, and contributing to a positive team environment. The position also entails addressing and resolving guest concerns professionally and performing additional duties as assigned by management. The dynamic nature of club operations requires flexibility to assist team members across various functions when needed.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
- ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
- capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required
- able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
- effective communication skills including talking and hearing with sufficient visual acuity
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen environment
- valid food handler certifications as required by state and city regulations
- strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Job Duties
- Set-up, execute daily prep tasks, and organize workstation efficiently
- prepare and store all food items required for your station adhering to company standards
- maintain proper cooking techniques and consistent preparation and presentation of menu items
- receive and store goods purchased by kitchen
- manage items such as condiments, dressings, salsa, and soups
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and kitchen including equipment and waste areas
- communicate with Executive Chef or Sous Chef about special product needs or food quality issues
- interact professionally with members and guests accommodating changes and last-minute requests
- support fellow employees and contribute to a positive team environment
- address and resolve member and guest complaints professionally, notifying management
- complete additional duties as assigned by management
- assist others as needed and take on additional tasks
- follow company, club, and department policies and procedures
- maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to excellence
- follow safe working practices and encourage others
- take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications
