Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or experience in hotel or related field preferred
At least 3 years of related progressive experience or culinary graduate with minimum 2 years experience in hotel or related field
Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
Banquet and production experience required
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests
Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety protocols

Job Duties

Have thorough working knowledge of menus and preparation required to produce food according to hotel standards
Lead the team or station in absence of chef or other manager
Assist in controlling costs by maintaining food cost within budgeted guidelines
Keep inventory level of food items required for day to day operation and assist chef in ordering
Follow FIFO standard in all operations
Ensure completion of food and station preparations prior to opening restaurant and Room Service
Display buffet items according to hotel standards
Assist and supervise kitchen line during restaurant hours to maintain efficiency and quality
Supervise food preparation for Banquets and Employee Cafeteria following event orders
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in kitchen and storage areas
Support training staff and assist with scheduling, ordering, and inventory
Ensure safe work habits and compliance with health department regulations
Maintain high food quality standards and cleanliness of all storage areas
Assist in security of food items and equipment management
Follow hotel emergency procedures
