Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or experience in hotel or related field preferred
- At least 3 years of related progressive experience or culinary graduate with minimum 2 years experience in hotel or related field
- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
- Banquet and production experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Have thorough working knowledge of menus and preparation required to produce food according to hotel standards
- Lead the team or station in absence of chef or other manager
- Assist in controlling costs by maintaining food cost within budgeted guidelines
- Keep inventory level of food items required for day to day operation and assist chef in ordering
- Follow FIFO standard in all operations
- Ensure completion of food and station preparations prior to opening restaurant and Room Service
- Display buffet items according to hotel standards
- Assist and supervise kitchen line during restaurant hours to maintain efficiency and quality
- Supervise food preparation for Banquets and Employee Cafeteria following event orders
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in kitchen and storage areas
- Support training staff and assist with scheduling, ordering, and inventory
- Ensure safe work habits and compliance with health department regulations
- Maintain high food quality standards and cleanliness of all storage areas
- Assist in security of food items and equipment management
- Follow hotel emergency procedures
