Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of pre employment screening
  • must be willing to participate in the company's pre employment screening process including drug screen and background investigation and meet company standards
  • certificate in food handling or sanitation methods or ServSafe certified preferred
  • experienced in customer service
  • demonstrated history of related food service experience
  • prior cook experience within a fast paced or high volume environment
  • ability to prepare and cook to order foods requiring short preparation time
  • ability to read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepare and cook food accordingly
  • ability to perform progressive cooking
  • may lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • stands and moves within the kitchen for 6 to 8 hours excluding breaks
  • some bending and squatting required

Job Qualifications

  • Certified in food handling or sanitation methods, or ServSafe certified preferred
  • experienced in customer service
  • demonstrated history of related food service experience
  • prior cook experience within a fast paced or high volume environment
  • ability to prepare and cook to order foods requiring short preparation time
  • ability to read food orders or receive verbal instructions and follow through precisely
  • good working knowledge of food preparation
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment such as knives, forks, measuring utensils, pots and pans
  • ability to perform progressive cooking
  • strong work ethics

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time
  • reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
  • replenish the serving line
  • performs fast food cooking and grill cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers
  • provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  • follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
  • operates kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish
  • tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • may select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies, and prepare meals for special diets
  • cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following company and regulatory procedures
  • sets steam tables and ensures proper food serving
  • cleans area of responsibility practicing "clean as you go"
  • performs progressive cooking
