Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years comparable accounting experience
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience in accounting
  • Advanced knowledge in hotel accounting and finance
  • Experience with bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Skilled in journal entry preparation
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to complete complex mathematical calculations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adjust to operational changes
  • Ability to manage deadlines and contract negotiations

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance and hospitality profession
  • Full service hotel experience required
  • Minimum 4 years comparable accounting experience
  • At least 2 years accounting supervisory experience
  • Managerial skills including decision making, deadlines, contract negotiations
  • Experienced in bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry creation
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent business communication skills
  • Strong time management
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to prepare complex reports
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel
  • Skilled in mathematical calculations, budgeting and forecasting

Job Duties

  • Supervises accounting staff
  • completes month-end closing
  • maintains balance sheet reconciliations
  • maintains and supports computer systems
  • trains all associates in accounting department
  • maintains internal audit controls
  • reviews daily revenue report
  • tracks daily cash
  • assists the Controller in daily department operations
  • communicates and directs staff effectively
  • monitors hotel traffic and adjusts staffing
  • supervises and reviews costs and inventory
  • coordinates profit planning, sales forecasts, budgets, and capital requirements
  • administers tax filing and government reporting
  • monitors compliance with policies, legal requirements, and contractual obligations
  • conducts disciplinary actions
  • conducts performance evaluations
  • reviews A/R credit applications and approves adjustments
  • prepares and enters journal entries
  • reviews preliminary P&L statements
  • distributes financial reports
  • assists with annual budget input
  • ensures high guest satisfaction
  • coordinates with internal and external customers
  • handles guest feedback and complaints
  • promotes leadership in guest hospitality
  • supports employee training and development
  • manages disciplinary procedures
  • fosters open communication
  • identifies and develops talent
  • maintains employee recognition programs
  • pursues self-development and learning
  • supports Public Relations initiatives
  • attends and communicates information from departmental meetings
