Job Requirements
- Must obtain instructor certification in the platform(s) assigned
- Must obtain a Top Secret Clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Job Qualifications
- Must be or have been an E-2 Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified pilot or E-2 simulator instructor pilot within the past five years
- Must have been designated a Carrier Aircraft Plane Commander (CAPC) or Carrier Transport Plane Commander (CTPC) with level 300 ACTC qualification or greater
- Must have no punitive actions that resulted in termination of flight status (e.g., FNAEB type B classification)
- Must have a minimum of 800 hours flying in E-2 or C-2 aircraft
- Must possess a bachelor's degree
- Preferred to be or have been an E-2/C-2 NATOPS instructor qualified pilot within past five years or have been an E-2/C-2 simulator instructor pilot within past five years
- Preferred to hold tactical designations such as Instructor CAPC in the E-2 (level 3i ACTC), element lead (level 400 ACTC), and E-2 Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) with level 500 ACTC qualification
Job Duties
- Conduct scheduled instructor-led/supported training for training devices and systems training including briefs and debriefs using tools such as interactive white boards, computers and video projectors
- Evaluate student training and mission performance as required
- Provide classroom instruction and recommendations for improvement including tests, lesson plans, and trainee guides under current directives
- Provide academic instruction such as crew resource management, instrument ground school, self-paced computer-aided instruction and computer-based training
- Assist with simulator and training device inspections and certification programs including mishap re-creation and testing
- Conduct training device operation instruction including briefing, debriefing and grading assessments
- Support other weapons system specific responsibilities as listed in appendices
- Evaluate and record trainer performance in accordance with established criteria
- Maintain, assess and recommend improvements to mission scenarios for effectiveness and currency
- Review curriculum and recommend improvements to the training program via appropriate training officials
- Perform as NATOPS instrument evaluators, assistant NATOPS instructors, airborne warning and electronic warfare instructors
