Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field
  • 10 years of construction management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of airport experience or 5 years in other critical environment facilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work additional responsibilities
  • Proven accuracy and reliability
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of design and construction intent
  • Ability to work various shifts as needed
  • May assume other duties as required
  • Optional professional certifications.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 10 years or more construction management experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Minimum of 3 years of airport experience or 5 years of experience in other critical environment facilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated planning, controlling, organizing and leadership skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to simplify complex issues for nontechnical audiences
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, priority setting, and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Ability to work under pressure on high-profile complicated assignments
  • Ability to understand design and construction intent of projects
  • Optional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, and other relevant professional licensures or certifications
  • Ability to assume additional responsibilities beyond outlined role.

Job Duties

  • Lead the morning and nightly huddles that occur with Airport Operations support
  • Distribute the Roadway Bulletin, Terminal Bulletin and Daily Roadway Map to attendees of the nightly huddle
  • Distribute a report of the morning huddle attendees with ASR/construction activities
  • Conduct site checks at each location within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA with active construction activities during each shift
  • Check the number of personnel deployed
  • Verify that the correct ASR is in hand with the project superintendent and posted on the dash of all vehicles
  • Verify that the correct barricading and signage is in place per approved ASR
  • Verify all scheduled deliveries are contained within the approved ASR and coordinated at nightly huddle
  • Communicate with Safety and Inspection team regarding compliance of scheduled work
  • Contact Airport Police and Airport Operations to remove vehicles or equipment parked curbside without correct paperwork
  • Take and label photos of deployed projects including vehicle and equipment deployment, active construction, traffic and passenger movement, barricades and signage
  • Produce a nightly report with both written narrative and photographic components for each deployed project, including personnel count and late flight information
  • Post the nightly reports to the CALMSHARE site, save on V Drive, and distribute to stakeholders
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and schedule for all active projects
  • Ensure all construction in public areas has appropriate barricades and signage as per approved ASR
  • Work with contractors to correct any barricading deficiencies and report to CALM Sign Shop Manager
  • Collaborate with various airport and development groups to develop protocols minimizing disruption to passengers, tenants, and contractors
  • Meet regularly with the CALM Area Resident Manager – Lead to recommend procedures, protocols, and staffing
  • Develop appropriate tracking and record keeping tools
  • May assume other duties as required or needed
  • May be required to work various shifts as needed.
