Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in related field
  • At least 3 years experience in commercial photography, videography, video editing and related field
  • Commitment to deadlines and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Must be a strong contributor to press and strategy meetings
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to operate and maintain video and photographic equipment
  • Willingness to perform occasional field or site visits
  • Compliance with City of Atlanta hybrid work schedule policy
  • Must maintain high ethical standards and professionalism

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial photography, videography, and video editing
  • Commitment to deadlines and flexible working hours
  • Strong contributor to press and strategy meetings
  • Proficiency with broadcast-grade video editing and production equipment and software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with vendors and internal teams
  • Excellent time management skills and self-starting attitude
  • United States Department of Transportation - Federal Aviation Administration Drone Certification preferred
  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent post-graduate education preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide lifespan documentation of construction projects through video
  • Manage and coordinate projects involving contracted vendors supplying visual assets
  • Capture raw video footage and real-time project updates for ATLDOT
  • Edit and produce visual storytelling content for social media, media pitches, static collateral, websites, and internal/external campaigns
  • Maintain a repository of visual content including cataloging and archiving photographs and videos
  • Operate and maintain video and photographic equipment such as cameras, lenses, lighting, sound recording devices, editing stations, and digital storage
  • Select and apply footage, photos, and transitions effects independently or with the communications team
  • Utilize broadcast-grade multi-source video editing systems, special effects, digital effects, video graphics, titling systems, and audio enhancement tools for content production
  • Collaborate with the communications team to capture necessary visual material for promotional and report purposes
  • Uphold high ethical standards and professionalism in all work
  • Provide transparent visual reporting on design and construction transportation projects within the city
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
