Job Description
The Meritage Resort & Spa, located in the heart of Napa Valley, California, is a prestigious luxury resort known for its exceptional accommodations, world-class amenities, and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. Nestled amidst vineyards and picturesque landscapes, the resort provides a unique blend of comfort, elegance, and sophisticated hospitality services, making it an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers. With an array of dining options, a serene spa, extensive meeting facilities, and exquisite event spaces, The Meritage Resort & Spa is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of every guest.
The Meritage Resort & Spa is now seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Events Manager to join its Conference Services team. This full-time leadership role offers a competitive salary of $90,000 annually and involves planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of high-profile events, including corporate meetings, weddings, conferences, banquets, and social gatherings. The Senior Events Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring top-tier service delivery and seamless event execution.
The Senior Events Manager acts as the primary liaison between the resort and its clients, providing expert guidance and support from the initial inquiry through the post-event follow-up. This position demands a professional who is adept at managing complex event details, from budget preparation and vendor coordination to staffing and on-site management. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing, mentoring, and training a team of event coordinators, ensuring each team member delivers service that aligns with the brand’s luxury standards.
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience managing a range of events in a luxury or full-service hotel environment and demonstrate an ability to foster strong client relationships, encouraging repeat business and client loyalty. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting typical of peak season operations. Additionally, proficiency in advanced event management software platforms such as Delphi, Opera Sales & Catering, and Social Tables is essential.
By working closely with sales and marketing teams, the Senior Events Manager will contribute to business development strategies aimed at increasing event bookings and expanding the resort’s market presence. Leveraging insights into market trends and client feedback, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives and promotional campaigns to maintain the resort’s competitive edge.
This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and be physically present during major functions, including standing and walking for extended periods during event setup and execution. The Meritage Resort & Spa is committed to providing an inclusive, supportive work environment where diversity is valued and equal employment opportunities are ensured for all staff members, consistent with federal, state, and local regulations.
