The Conference Services Manager position is a pivotal role within the sales department, reporting directly to the Director of Sales. This role oversees the all-encompassing sales and marketing strategies for the catering department, balancing the need to acquire new client accounts with nurturing existing relationships. The Conference Services Manager plays an essential part in devising innovative plans that exceed revenue goals while simultaneously optimizing hotel profitability without compromising guest satisfaction. They act as a vital liaison between clients and operational teams to ensure seamless event execution and encourage repeat business. Responsibilities encompass contract negotiation, conducting site inspections, managing inventory strategically, organizing client meetings, and supporting customers throughout the event planning journey—including menu selection, décor, and logistics. The position requires proactive leadership with a 'can-do' attitude, strategic thinking for forecasting and budgeting, and exceptional communication skills to maintain positive client relationships.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of two to three years of sales experience in hotel or resort catering and conference services or a related field
- prior direct supervisory experience in sales and catering teams
- bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, sales, marketing, or equivalent
- strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- assertive, outgoing, and self-motivated with a pleasant personality, capable of thriving in a team environment
- proficient in computer use, with the ability to learn new programs quickly
- exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- skilled in negotiation techniques
- demonstrates a proactive 'can-do' attitude and leads by example
- physical requirements include standing, walking for extended periods (4 to 5 hours), climbing stairs, reaching, bending, tasting, seeing, hearing, smelling, and tactile perception
- may need to lift over 50 pounds occasionally
- flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, holidays, and as per business demands
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Drive revenue growth for resort catering on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
- manage inventory effectively using strategic selling guidelines, optimizing meeting space ratios, package rates, daily meeting packages, and food and beverage minimums
- negotiate contracts, create proposals, secure bookings within assigned territories and set guidelines
- handle inquiries and conduct site inspections
- organize pre-event and post-event meetings with clients, guests, and catering teams
- implement company programs to exceed revenue targets while ensuring guest satisfaction
- maintain positive client relationships through clear and timely communication
