This position offers an exciting opportunity within the hospitality industry that centers on delivering superior conference and event services tailored to meet client needs. The role demands a proactive and communicative professional with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in catering sales and hospitality management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of conference planning and execution, working closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure flawless event delivery.
The Conference Services Manager will be instrumental in cultivating long-term client relationships, contributing to revenue optimization through strategic room rental charges and innovative event solutions. This role requires expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and sales techniques, including effective negotiation and closing skills. The manager will also engage actively with industry organizations such as NACE and MPI to stay abreast of trends and maintain a high level of professional competence.
In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role involves close collaboration with the banquet and culinary teams to craft creative event setups and specialized menus that align with client expectations and budgetary considerations. A strong understanding of hotel operations, including marketing, security, labor relations, budget management, and quality assurance, is vital to successfully coordinating and overseeing event logistics.
The Woodlands Resort values extensive computer proficiency, especially with systems like Delphi, Microsoft Word, and Excel, as these tools are essential in generating detailed event orders, managing group room blocks, and operating audiovisual equipment as a profit center. Candidates must exhibit excellent communication abilities and adaptability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders including supervisors, coworkers, vendors, and clients. The resort embraces diversity and strongly encourages applications from individuals with varied backgrounds and military experience.
Compensation for this full-time position is competitive, with an annual salary of $60,000. The resort offers a comprehensive benefits program that supports physical, mental, and financial wellness, including medical and dental coverage, vision insurance, pet insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, paid time off, and special discount programs.
