Job Requirements

  • Two years of previous events set up experience preferred
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • strong communication skills
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
  • availability to work full time Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • commitment to maintaining professional appearance and high standards of service

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or houseman/porter experience preferred
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organizational and time management skills

Job Duties

  • Moves and places tables, chairs, and supply linens for each event in the conference center
  • supplies and sets up items not included in the room such as flipcharts, whiteboard, screens
  • assists with conference room readiness ensuring proper materials like pens, pads, handouts, and event packages are available
  • refreshes rooms between meetings
  • provides prompt and detailed service as scheduled or by request
  • maintains consistent phone and email communication with clients, guests, team members, and support departments
  • offers assistance to clients and visitors including directions and escorting
  • communicates with co-workers and service partners to share updated information
  • provides recommendations to planning managers about room setups and collaborates to solve unique setup challenges
  • conducts weekly site inspections and reports any service needs
  • assists with basic audiovisual equipment
  • maintains inventory of supplies and notifies supervisors when more supplies are needed
  • performs other duties as assigned
