Job Description
Our establishment is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults by providing exceptional services and compassionate care. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming environment where residents feel valued, supported, and secure. As a reputable organization in the senior care industry, our team works collaboratively to uphold high standards of service excellence and promote well-being among all community members. Our commitment to professional and courteous interaction ensures that each resident’s experience is optimized through personalized attention and thoughtful engagement. Our community is designed to be a place where seniors can enjoy an active, comfortable lifestyle while having access to necessary amenities and assistance whenever needed.
The role of Concierge is a vital part of our community operations. As the initial point of contact for visitors and those contacting the community by phone, the Concierge provides a professional and friendly presence that reflects our values. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Executive Director, emphasizing its integral role within the team. The primary purpose of this role is to support the community by assisting residents with their daily needs, scheduling appointments, coordinating transportation, and managing communications efficiently. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. The Concierge will also assist in ensuring resident satisfaction through prompt responses to requests and maintaining accurate records of various services and items provided.
Responsibilities include answering incoming telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner, greeting visitors upon arrival, maintaining organizational files, and scheduling transportation and salon appointments for residents. The Concierge also prepares work orders for maintenance needs and coordinates prompt service delivery. A key aspect of this position is helping residents with sundry items, ensuring precise accounting of purchases, and managing the supply of postage and greeting cards. The role involves monitoring security cameras as a first responder to the resident's Emergency Response System and providing valet service by coordinating staff support as needed. While no supervisory responsibilities are assigned, the Concierge must demonstrate professional appearance and behavior at all times and maintain positive interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with strong communication skills in English. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and general computer proficiency are necessary to handle documentation and scheduling tasks effectively. An understanding and appreciation of seniors' unique needs and challenges are crucial to performing successfully in this role. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, as well as the emotional resilience to work with residents who may have behavioral challenges. Travel is not required, making this role accessible for those seeking stability in location. Overall, the Concierge role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about senior care who want to contribute meaningfully to a supportive and respectful community environment.
