Job Description

The hiring establishment is a community-oriented organization dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to its residents, with a particular focus on enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life. As a community that prioritizes respect, care, and professionalism, this organization seeks to ensure that every visitor and resident experiences warmth and attentiveness from the moment they enter the premises or engage with staff over the phone. This establishment prides itself on creating a welcoming and efficient environment, where both physical and emotional needs of residents are recognized and addressed compassionately and promptly.

The company operates within a community support framework aimed at senior residents or individuals requiring attentive and personalized care. It employs a dedicated team of professionals working harmoniously to deliver services that support a high standard of living. With a clear organizational structure, the concierge role reports directly to the Executive Director and functions as a vital liaison between residents, visitors, and the internal team. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, indicating eligibility for overtime pay, and emphasizes work that is meaningful yet flexible to accommodate the dynamic needs of the community.

The Concierge role itself is one of the first points of contact for visitors and incoming calls and serves a critical function in maintaining smooth and effective communication internally and externally. The role is responsible not only for greeting guests warmly but also for addressing and fulfilling the specific needs of residents, which helps optimize their overall experience. This multifaceted position involves managing communications, scheduling transportation and appointments, coordinating maintenance requests, and supporting logistical needs such as handling sundry item distribution and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

A person in this role must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to anticipate and respond appropriately to a wide range of inquiries and requests. Technological competence is essential, as the concierge will utilize basic computer applications like Microsoft Office to update records and assist in administrative functions. Additionally, an understanding and appreciation of the senior community and their unique challenges are vital to performing this role effectively.

Other responsibilities include monitoring security systems as a first responder to emergency response alerts, facilitating valet services, managing supplies like greeting cards and stamps, and ongoing collaboration with other staff members to maintain a supportive and secure environment. The work requires a proactive and patient individual who can handle potentially disruptive behaviors and maintain composure under challenging situations.

This position does not involve supervisory duties but does require a friendly and approachable demeanor, a professional appearance at all times, and a willingness to perform varied tasks to benefit the community's smooth operation. Travel is not required, which can appeal to candidates looking for a stable and community-focused role. Physical demands of the job include routine sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting, and reasonable accommodations are provided to support employees with disabilities.

Overall, the Concierge position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a caring environment dedicated to enhancing residents' lives through exceptional service and responsiveness. The role provides personal satisfaction derived from helping others, working in a team-oriented atmosphere, and contributing to a community where residents feel valued and supported.
