The role of Concierge at Team Gilbert is pivotal in managing the first point of contact within the Town of Gilbert’s administration building located at 50 E. Civic Center Drive, Arizona. This part-time, benefit-eligible position operates primarily Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., positioning the concierge as the welcoming face of the facility. As the key liaison for visitors, staff, and elected officials, the concierge plays an essential role in upholding the Town’s commitment to exceptional customer service by ensuring that all visitors receive courteous and accurate information and assistance.
Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors with sign-in procedures, using advanced visitor management technology, and providing clear guidance on policies, safety, and other inquiries. The concierge maintains a clean, safe, and presentable lobby environment and is attentive to any security or facility-related concerns, promptly reporting issues as needed. In addition to direct interaction, the role manages administrative tasks such as receiving and signing for deliveries, handling internal and external communications via email and phone, and supporting various Town initiatives, including shipping, scanning of documents, and general support activities.
This role requires a candidate who is tech-savvy, highly organized, and able to multitask effectively within a high-traffic public environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. Team Gilbert emphasizes ongoing learning and expects the concierge to quickly acquire knowledge about the Town's services, policies, and technology tools within the first 30 days of employment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Three years of experience in a customer service environment
- Ability to maintain an organized and clean, presentable area to the public
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
- Ability to communicate, hear, see, move throughout the lobby area, type, carry less than 10 pounds, open/close doors, perform light dusting and sweeping, manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- On-site presence required during scheduled hours Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Three years of experience in a customer service environment
- Comfortable with various technology tools including Office 365, text, phone transfers, supply and meal ordering sites, digital visitor tools
- Knowledge of Town of Gilbert popular destinations, other Town buildings, community events, activities, internal and external resources
- Understanding of town policies including building safety guidelines, personnel policies, and process of service
- Ability to multitask activities and assist multiple customers simultaneously
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Welcome visitors to the building and assist with sign-in procedures using Gilbert's visitor sign-in technology
- Engage with people in the lobby, sharing information about the building, answering questions, and making introductions as needed
- Assist with pick up/shipping for Town store purchases and wellness prizes
- Receive, review, and respond as necessary to emails, including emails that come into the general HR email inbox, from internal and external customers
- Answer incoming phone calls from residents, business owners, and staff
- Assist with scanning and uploading documentation as needed
- Maintain the lobby area clean and presentable throughout regular hours of operation
