Job Description
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Founded more than a century ago, the society works tirelessly to free the world from the pain and suffering caused by cancer. With a network of 1.3 million volunteers and dedicated employees, the American Cancer Society raises the bar daily in cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. The society's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion ensures that it serves all communities effectively and with respect. This institution is a beacon of hope and a leader in the fight against cancer, engaging people from all walks of life who are united by a common mission to save lives and improve quality of life for those affected by cancer.
The American Cancer Society is currently seeking a Concierge to join their team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for guests, managing front desk operations, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for all visitors. This role involves assisting with guest check-in and check-out, responding to guest inquiries, coordinating transportation services, and contributing to the security and safety protocols at the lodge. The Concierge position is a part-time role scheduled from Sundays to Thursdays, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with an hourly wage of $18.59. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a vital aspect of patient and guest experiences by providing exceptional service in a friendly, calm setting. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a passion for helping others while supporting the society's lifesaving mission. The position also requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems. Minimal travel is required, and the physical demands include periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting related to assisting guests. The role is well-suited for individuals who are empathetic, organized, and motivated by the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Working at the American Cancer Society also comes with competitive benefits, including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities, making this an attractive career choice for service-oriented professionals committed to community health and support.
