The Concierge role at Friendly Senior Living is an essential position that requires a genuine passion for people and dedication to superior customer service within a senior housing setting. The concierge is often the first point of contact for residents, family members, guests, and vendors, making it a critical role in setting the tone and atmosphere of the community. This role demands excellent time management, problem-solving skills, and a calm, amicable personality to handle the dynamics of a fast-paced environment effectively. The concierge provides a broad range of services, including greeting residents and visitors warmly, directing them appropriately, managing access control, handling mail and packages, and assisting with various personal and community services such as transportation and event recommendations. The position also includes administrative duties and requires a person who can handle emergency protocols with confidence and confidentiality. The work schedule includes every other weekend from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm, demanding reliability and dedication. This role requires an individual who can relate positively to a wide range of people and maintain the highest standards of customer service in every interaction. Overall, the Concierge at Friendly Senior Living is fundamental in enhancing resident satisfaction and ensuring smooth daily operations within the community while upholding the core values that define the Friendly Senior Living experience.

Job Requirements

  • Requires ability to relate and be respectful to a wide variety of people and provide superior customer service to all including residents, co-workers, vendors, family members and visitors
  • Must wear employee badge at all times while on the job
  • Must report to work on time and adhere to attendance policy
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding information about residents, co-workers, vendors, family members and visitors
  • Dependable, report to work on time for every schedule shift and work full scheduled shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved paid time off
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a friendly service-oriented, cooperative demeanor and support culture of excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or residents
  • Abide by work-related job procedures and organization policies as outlined in the employee handbook

Job Qualifications

  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge and skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of job-related experience

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates superior customer service at all times and a genuine desire to serve
  • Warmly greets and directs residents and guests arriving to or departing from the property
  • Maintains an active presence at the front desk
  • Monitors and announces visitors and controls access to the property
  • Handles all concierge duties including processing incoming mail and outgoing packages
  • answering questions, making recommendations, and making arrangements on items such as transportation, restaurant reservations, health and beauty services, and cultural events
  • travel and meeting planning
  • delivering dry cleaning
  • and coordinating housekeeping or other community-specific services
  • Adheres to company standards for resident and guest services
  • Reports to lead concierge or executive assistant any resident or guest dissatisfaction
  • Performs other job-related duties as directed
  • Directs visitors and guests to appropriate office or residents' apartment
  • Offers assistance and guidance to residents and staff
  • Assists with administrative duties as directed
  • Receives and follows the front desk concierge schedule and instructions from supervisor
  • Receives requests from within the community and locates personnel through the paging system
  • Handles emergency PERS and fire alarms per Cloverwood's procedures
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents' rights are protected
