Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No previous experience required
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations at a high school graduate level
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures
  • Ability to use computerized cash register systems
  • Ability to read written communiques and monochrome computer screens
  • Capacity to operate computer, calculator and telephone keyboards
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful and highly emotional customer service situations with tact
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and knowledge of standard cash handling procedures
  • Experience dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills
  • Ability to read written communiques and monochrome computer screens
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator and telephone keyboards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Tact and understanding in handling customer service problems including stressful situations
  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis
  • Facilitates guest departure (check-out) on a daily basis by following established manual and computer procedures
  • Regularly calculates and/or posts monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods
  • Courteously answers inquiries and accepts reservations, both in person and by telephone, by accurately communicating hotel rates and information and using suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintains good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses
  • Operates the PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls and paging guests
  • Controls cash transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
