This particular role is for a Concierge who reports directly to the Business Office Manager. It is an hourly position that plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and families. The Concierge is responsible for greeting visitors, arranging property tours, answering multi-line telephones, and providing clerical support to the administrative staff. This position requires an individual who not only exemplifies professionalism and enthusiasm but also demonstrates patience and a cheerful demeanor. The Concierge helps maintain a neat, orderly reception area and acts as a friendly face that represents the community's mission and values.

In this role, the Concierge will assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests while ensuring all interactions are handled with care and respect. Additionally, the Concierge supports administrative operations such as processing incoming mail, managing the mail meter and stamps, making copies, and organizing property literature. As part of the community marketing efforts, the Concierge helps facilitate property tours, providing visitors with important information about available services and programs.

The physical qualifications of the role require the ability to walk and stand continuously, lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds regularly, and perform tasks that involve bending, squatting, climbing stairs, and reaching frequently. Sensory requirements include clear vision, the ability to hear telephone and alarms, and strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. The Concierge must remain calm under emergency situations, make independent decisions when needed, and maintain a safe work environment for staff, residents, and guests.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • able to read, write, and understand the English language

  • experience using Microsoft computer software

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel
  • direct visitors to appropriate office or resident apartment
  • assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • arrange for tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those that have made an appointment for the tour
  • answer telephones, record and channel information
  • display knowledge of the services and programs and other pertinent information regarding the property
  • manage mail meter, stamps, making copies, and other tasks related to office operations
  • process incoming mail, sort property mail and distribute mail to mailboxes
  • maintain reception area in a neat and orderly fashion
  • ensure that reception desk and lobby has current property literature on display
  • ensure that lobby is free of excessive or outdated literature
  • ensure that coffee and or refreshments are fresh and readily available
  • perform clerical duties for property staff as directed by supervisor
  • provide assistance in the dining room serving resident meals as requested
  • provide support to the community's marketing efforts through positive and friendly interaction during property tours and telephone contact with the public
  • communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisory immediately
  • maintain a safe work environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards
  • encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
  • support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
