The Concierge role at Sunrise Senior Living, specifically at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton, serves as a crucial frontline position, often being the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors. This role is integral to the day-to-day operations of the community, combining customer service expertise with administrative responsibilities to ensure a welcoming and efficient experience for all guests. The Concierge manages visitor greetings, coordinates communication, supports recruitment processes, and maintains the front desk and bistro areas to uphold an inviting atmosphere. By integrating safety and risk management practices, the Concierge also helps maintain a secure environment for the residents and staff.

As a Concierge, you will facilitate smooth communication by handling calls promptly and effectively, taking messages, and offering pertinent information about the community. Supporting the Director of Sales and the Executive Director, you will assist in building interest in the community and play a role in the recruitment of new team members. Administrative duties include managing appointment schedules, overseeing community entry protocols, and ensuring the cleanliness and pleasant ambiance of the bistro area. Your role extends to risk management compliance and emergency procedures, reflecting Sunrise's commitment to resident safety and regulatory adherence.

Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • Proven customer service background
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn and use new applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Capability to handle multiple priorities
  • Must be able to comply with safety and health requirements
  • Must complete required pre-employment screenings and vaccinations

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Windows, Outlook, Excel
  • Ability to learn new software applications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision making abilities
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking System preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Oversee community entry area for visitors and residents, extend welcome and offer refreshments
  • Contact Director of Sales, Executive Director, or Department Coordinator for prospective resident meetings
  • Greet potential job candidates and direct them to apply online or enter info into Applicant Tracking System
  • Answer incoming calls promptly with appropriate greeting and take complete messages
  • Provide community overview to callers and manage appointment scheduling
  • Send get well and sympathy cards as appropriate
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock in front desk and bistro areas including snacks and music
  • Partner with community team to ensure safety compliance and risk management protocols
  • Maintain emergency rosters and respond to emergencies per policy
  • Update resident and team member records and handle administrative duties such as meal ticket preparation and mail distribution
  • Assist with recruitment data entry and ordering office supplies
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and engagement activities
  • Maintain compliance with all required training and complete other assigned duties
