They ensure the working area remains clean, safe, and free from hazards, promptly reporting any security or safety concerns to the Public Safety Services Department. Additionally, the role demands a deep understanding of patients' age-specific care needs, emphasizing compassionate and appropriate interactions based on growth and development principles.

While no licensure or certification is required, candidates must possess a high school diploma and have at least one year of experience in service management within a large public setting, preferably as a concierge or greeter. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and an ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the varied needs of the healthcare facility's guests and visitors.

Physically, the role demands the ability to stand, walk, or run throughout the workday, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and the capability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance including helping out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, escorting to destinations
  • Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destinations and remains with patients when necessary
  • Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
  • Arranges parking needs such as valet service, tour buses, short-term visitors
  • Assists customers with transportation needs including taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport
  • Ensures working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
  • Reports security or safety issues to Public Safety Services
  • Collaborates with hospital support staff including Public Safety, Environmental Services, Patient Transport, and Grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care needs of patients as per department policies
