The role offered is for a Concierge professional at Alyeska Resort, situated in the stunning locale of Girdwood, Alaska. This year-round position provides an hourly wage starting at $19, reflecting the resort’s commitment to valuing quality and dedication among team members. The Concierge plays a critical role in guest relations by providing personalized assistance that enhances the overall guest experience. Responsibilities include delivering timely and accurate information about resort activities, local tours, and dining options, as well as managing reservations and handling special guest requests for amenities such as babysitting and floral arrangements.
As a key point of contact for guests, the Concierge must be knowledgeable about the resort’s offerings and local attractions, able to provide detailed guidance on routes, schedules, and accommodations, and coordinate with other departments like the Front Desk and Bell Desk to ensure seamless service. Additional duties include answering phone calls, managing guest communications such as messages and faxes, and assisting with various operational tasks including front desk cross-training. This role demands exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure while delivering outstanding customer service.

Job Requirements
- Proven ability to follow through and be detail oriented
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with local attractions and vendors preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency in English
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Physical ability to perform job duties including sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to use computer and calculator
- Ability to see and hear in emergency situations
- May be required to pass a functional capacity test
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree, related field or international equivalent preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in English, additional languages preferred
- Proven hospitality experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with local attractions and vendors a plus
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving ability
Job Duties
- Answer inquiries about resort activities and local events
- Offer suggestions and provide descriptive literature for tours and entertainment
- Discuss accommodations, routes, and rates with guests and make reservations
- Arrange baggage handling, shipping services, and special requests such as babysitting and flower arrangements
- Respond to guest communications including phone calls, mail, and faxes
- Develop strong knowledge of resort and local area activities
- Maintain consistent communication with Front Desk and other departments
- Cross-train to perform Front Desk Clerk duties when needed
