The Concierge acts as the initial point of contact and is fundamental in creating a positive first impression for visitors, residents, family members, and guests. Reporting directly to the Business Office Manager, this hourly position involves a blend of customer service, administrative support, and community engagement. The Concierge must be personable, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that all who enter the community feel valued and informed.

The Concierge's responsibilities include greeting visitors warmly, assisting with property tours, managing multi-line telephone systems, and providing clerical support to administrative staff. Additionally, this role is essential in supporting community marketing efforts by interacting positively with prospective residents and the public. The Concierge keeps the reception area tidy and welcoming, maintains accurate mail processing, and helps in delivering smooth daily operations.

Physical requirements are significant in this role, as the Concierge must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds, and perform various movements such as bending, twisting, climbing stairs, and reaching. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, be proficient with Microsoft software, and demonstrate patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm towards assisting residents, staff, and visitors.

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • be responsive to the needs of people inquiring about the property or attending meetings
  • direct visitors to appropriate offices or resident apartments
  • assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • arrange tours of the property for spontaneous or scheduled visits
  • answer telephones, record and channel information
  • display knowledge of services, programs, and pertinent information about the property
  • manage mail meter, stamps, make copies, and perform other office-related tasks
  • process incoming mail and distribute to mailboxes
  • maintain the reception area neat and orderly
  • ensure reception desk and lobby have current property literature and refreshments
  • perform clerical duties as directed by supervisor
  • assist in dining room serving resident meals when requested
  • support marketing efforts through positive interaction during tours and telephone contact
  • communicate any observed or suspected resident condition changes to supervisors immediately
  • maintain a safe work environment following safety standards
  • encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions
  • support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • perform other duties as assigned consistent with the position
