Job Description

Icon Community is a distinguished residential community located in Norfolk, VA, known for offering a vibrant living experience that combines comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. The community prides itself on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors while fostering a strong sense of belonging and community engagement. With a focus on quality customer service and comprehensive amenities, Icon Community is a sought-after location for individuals and families looking for a supportive and well-maintained living environment. The community is managed with attention to detail and a commitment to enhancing the daily lives of its residents through professional management and dedicated staff.

The Concierge role at Icon Community is a pivotal position designed to elevate the resident and visitor experience by providing timely, courteous, and efficient support. Reporting directly to the Community Manager, this full-time, non-exempt position is essential for ensuring smooth operational flow and effective communication across various aspects of community services. The Concierge acts as the primary point of contact for residents, prospects, and guests, greeting them warmly and assisting with inquiries to make each interaction positive and helpful. This position requires consistent attendance, as it directly impacts the community's ability to maintain high standards of service and operations.

In this role, the Concierge will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties that support the overall functionality of the community office. Responsibilities include answering telephone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel, managing deliveries and package tracking, and maintaining the refreshment area for residents and guests. Additionally, the Concierge will provide residents and potential new tenants with useful information about local dining, transportation options, and events, enhancing their connection to the neighborhood.

The Concierge will also play a critical role in following up on completed maintenance requests, ensuring that resident concerns are addressed promptly and satisfactorily. Adherence to Fair Housing Laws is a fundamental requirement for this position, underscoring the community's dedication to ethical practices and equal treatment for all residents and prospects. The role involves occasional clerical tasks such as handling incoming and outgoing mail, coordinating express mail delivery, and performing standard office duties like photocopying, faxing, and filing.

Physically, the job demands the ability to engage in activities such as typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, and standing for prolonged periods. The ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds is also necessary. Schedule flexibility is important, as the role’s hours coincide with the community's operating hours, including weekend shifts and evening coverage from 5 PM to midnight. This ensures continuity in service and availability to residents during key times.

Overall, the Concierge at Icon Community is a trusted frontline representative who contributes significantly to the quality of life within the community. This position is ideal for an individual with strong communication skills, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic residential environment.
