Job Description
Common House is a distinctive gathering space dedicated to cultivating community through unique programming, thoughtful design, and fine dining experiences. With established locations in Richmond's Arts District, Chattanooga's Southside, the flagship site on Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall, and New Orleans, Common House has built a reputation for fostering meaningful connections in welcoming environments. As the company expands into mid-sized cities across the country, it continues to grow a family of professionals passionate about delivering comfort and community to its members. The establishment embodies core values centered on hospitality, fun, integrity, excellence, teamwork, and flexibility, which guide every aspect of the member experience.
The role of Concierge at Common House is pivotal in enhancing the membership experience by representing the warm, welcoming face of the club and delivering an exceptional standard of service and hospitality. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that range from managing reservations and communications with members to providing administrative and restaurant support. The Concierge ensures that all members and guests feel valued and engaged through positive interactions, personalized recognition of member milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries, and prompt assistance with inquiries relating to private events, meeting space, and partnerships. This role requires someone with a positive attitude, the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced and diverse team environment, and a strong commitment to the company’s values. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, accommodating varied schedules and career aspirations.
Key responsibilities include the management of the front desk and coat room, handling phone and email inquiries with professionalism, coordinating reservations to maximize seating in the dining area while avoiding scheduling conflicts with club events, and supporting other department managers as needed. The Concierge also manages RSVPs for programming events, ensures timely communications for members, and assists the finance team by scanning and uploading invoices. A creative element is involved in producing event signage and menus using Adobe InDesign, reflecting the company’s attention to detail and dedication to a polished member experience. Furthermore, the Concierge may occasionally take on hosting duties on the restaurant floor to support smooth operations during busy periods. Common House prides itself on being an equal opportunity workplace that values inclusivity, welcoming applications across all identities and experiences. This commitment not only enriches the workplace culture but also ensures that the diverse perspectives of members and employees are respected and celebrated.
