Job Description
The Chicago Union is a professional ultimate frisbee team that competes in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA). Based in Chicago, this team is dedicated to promoting and advancing the sport of ultimate frisbee, combining athleticism, sportsmanship, and community engagement to create an exciting and fast-paced spectator experience. The Chicago Union operates within a vibrant sports culture in a major metropolitan area, attracting a diverse fan base and building a strong local presence. As part of their continued growth and commitment to delivering outstanding game day experiences, the team is currently seeking a Concessions Manager to lead their food and beverage operations for the 2026 home season.
This position is a hands-on leadership role ideal for individuals passionate about event operations, food service management, and developing efficient systems in a dynamic sports environment. The Concessions Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the concessions program at home games, from inventory management and supply logistics to coordinating and training volunteers and gameday staff. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a professional sports team and gain impactful experience in sports event management and hospitality services.
The Concessions Manager will handle the entire lifecycle of food and beverage operations, including purchasing, organizing supplies, transporting equipment to and from the stadium, and managing the setup, cooking, service, and breakdown on game day. They will ensure that all operations meet food safety and sanitation standards, handle cashless payment operations using Shopify POS systems, and strive to minimize waste between events by carefully tracking inventory. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in concessions, food service, catering, or hospitality, as well as demonstrated leadership skills, comfort managing volunteers, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor sports environment.
This role involves a seasonal commitment, primarily concentrated during the summer months, with five home games scheduled on June 5, June 21, July 5, July 10, and July 18, along with additional preparation days leading up to each game. Compensation is performance-based and tied directly to concessions profitability, providing strong financial incentives for candidates who can efficiently build and manage concessions operations while maximizing sales. The Chicago Union is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring practices and welcomes candidates of all backgrounds to apply for the Concessions Manager position.
