Within this dynamic and fast-paced environment, Oak View Group is seeking a Concessions Bartender to join their team. This role is a vital part of the hospitality services offered at OVG's premium venues. The Concessions Bartender is primarily responsible for the delivery of exceptional beverage service, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, to guests attending various events. With an emphasis on craft cocktails, this position requires an individual who can maintain impeccable guest service standards and present themselves professionally at all times.

The Concessions Bartender must thrive in an ever-changing, high-volume atmosphere typical of premium venues, hotels, and upscale restaurants. Key responsibilities include serving alcoholic beverages in compliance with all state and federal regulations, verifying guests' identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance, and managing intoxicated guest situations with professionalism and care. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits varieties, possess the ability to upsell products effectively, and handle cash accurately while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of bartending experience required
  • 1-2 years of verifiable experience in a fast-paced, upscale environment preferred
  • ServSafe Alcohol or other responsible alcohol service certification preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative team spirit
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
  • Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • Check the guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
  • Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns
  • Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations
  • If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required
  • Contact a management member if he/she is unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making
  • Request additional products or restock products as required
  • Handle cash accurately, responsible for the issue bank at bar when applicable
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station at all times
  • Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained
  • Other duties as assigned, such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler
