The Concessions Bar Lead role within Oak View Group is a pivotal position responsible for managing the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, during events at their venues. As a Concessions Bar Lead, you will be overseeing bar procedures and ensuring that all staff adhere strictly to alcohol service protocols, including compliance with state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations. The position demands a high level of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This role is critical to delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring speed, quality, and compliance in beverage service.

The Concessions Bar Lead is expected to be a hands-on leader who can coach and guide team members on bar procedures, speed of service, alcohol compliance, and guest interaction. You will be responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of operations behind the bar during events, following health and safety standards, and reporting any incidents or concerns to supervisors or managers promptly. Additionally, the role involves practical tasks like preparing and garnishing drinks according to standard recipes, managing stock and inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and performing closing duties.

This position offers an hourly rate between $12.00 and $16.00, with eligibility for tips, providing a rewarding compensation package for part-time employment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2+ years bartending experience in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to use POS systems for transactions
  • Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws
  • Valid food handling certificate or willingness to obtain
  • TABC certification or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and long hours
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to remain professional and calm under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of experience bartending in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to accurately handle register and revenue collections through POS system is required
  • Ability to meet the company standard of excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws
  • Must have the ability to handle guest issues, deescalate them, and report to department supervisors and/or managers
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have knowledge or ability to learn about various beers, wines & spirits available
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to working at Moody Center
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours
  • Bartending school preferred

Job Duties

  • Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Oversee all bar procedures during events to ensure proper service flow and professionalism
  • Follow and enforce health code standards
  • Report any incidents or issues to Bar Supervisors or Manager when they arise
  • Coach staff, when needed, on alcohol compliance, bar procedures, speed of service, and guest interactions
  • Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • Take and/or process orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes
  • and practice prudent portion control
  • Set up assigned bars
  • requisition and stock all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, ice, and produce
  • Maintain stock, prepare, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Request additional product or restock as needed
  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner
  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained, escalating to management or security when needed
  • Lock up and store all beverage products, food, and equipment items and perform all closing duties at the end of the shift
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
